Ok, I need to graph a line that passes through the point (-4,2) and has a slope of 3/2, and I have to write the equation. How in the world do I do this? Any instructional help is greatly appreciated.

My teacher is teaching us algebra and how to find variables using the “seesaw” method. I am sooooo confused! I undertand how to do it with something simple like… 4s+6=5 but how do you do it using the seesaw method when doing an equation like 4b+17×6u=4ux81+2…. AHHHH. If you are good at math can you explain it to me and if you know a good instructional link I woul appreciate it… Thanks

I saw this site posted on boingboing.net: lawgeek.typepad.com It is a collection of youtube videos by kids teaching kids how to cheat on exams. The videos on that site didn’t talk about the way of cheating I invented when I was a kid that involves writing on a stretched out rubber band. Check out my method and use it to get away with as much hijinks as possible. And, since this is Super Bowl Sunday, I just wanted to dedicate this to Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots who are the biggest cheaters I know.

For my algebra class, I need to come up with a way to teach the term “expression” as in (algebraic expression), to 5th graders..I was thinking of opening to the class by comparing mathematical expressions to facial expressions, by putting up posters with these images: =) =( =O . Then i would say the biggest difference is that these facial expressions have equal signs and mathematical expressions don’t. How do i continue the lesson by making it fun and creative yet still understandable and to the point??? thanks.
